Things I love about today:

  • Despite being at 6:30, this morning’s workout was brutally stellar
  • New louffas are awesome
  • A series of really good emails
  • Starbucks now has sugar free mocha and sugar free peppermint
  • My work space heater is loving on my legs
  • Ally McBeal on netflix
  • Planning and researching recipes for Thanksgiving
  • Thinking about the chicken curry salad I plan on making for dinner tonight
  • The salted carmel hot chocolate that will be the dessert following said dinner
What do you love today?

Classy Work Conversations.

Within my first hour of work today, I have heard the following.

I discussed with my grandfather about how eating at Pizza Ranch really is like dinner theater. He quite loves to watch the less than trim ladies with tweety bird shorts mow down on pepperoni delights.

And this gem:

joe: i was a flower child
dad: if i ever let him, joe would tell you quite the stories of his youth
joe: I could have been poster child.
me: for an a&e reality rehab show?
joe: .....no, at the post office....

Day Ten involves all men.

Bestest Boss on Veterans Day: I have the bestest boss in the whole world. Veterans Day = Holiday = I get to stay home and do all the things that I want to do. Like workout as long as I want, and clean the house! Ok, not really things I WANT to do, but things that I even less want to do at 8pm when I normally get home. I heart my boss. (Those that don't know me, I work for my dad, I dont have an abnormally creepy fascination with my employer).

Kurt on Glee: Tuesday's episode had me squealing and booing and awwing at the tv tonight, home alone. I love this show. It makes me happy.

Pumpkin marshmallows: It's been said before that Tim got me a Marshmallow of the Month Club, but I got November's gift of Pumpkin Pie marshmallows today. I love all things pumpkin. And marshmallow. Double whammy for my tastebuds.

Clients From Hell.

Little tidbits from the tumblr "Clients From Hell" (Makes me glad I don't really deal with people....):

Client: “That font right there!  It’s clean yet edgy.  There’s no WAY I’ve seen that font before, I would’ve remembered!  What font is that?”
Me: “Arial.”

Client: I need to get moving, anyway you can do some work on this on your vacation. That’s a long vacation, I bet you’ll get bored anyway, and this is back-and-forth via email, not phone, so it shouldn’t cause you any stress..

Client: “I have a great idea, and I’d like to bring you on board as a partner.”
Me: “Go on..”
Client: “It’s great.  I want to recreate Google, but make it better.”
Me: “How?”
Client: “Well that’s where your expertise comes in.”

Client: That other website is stealing our business. Can you make it so that when someone types in their address they come to our site?

There are about a billion more.... check out the awesome!

My Parking Lot Furry Friend

I met a new friend today. He found his way into my work's parking lot. I figured he would run away as soon as I got remotely close. But I knelt down by the car he was flopped under and out he came, wanting to be rubbed and loved. His tail was only about two inches long. Little nubster. But very loving and affectionate. Every time I'd start to pet him, he would flop on the ground and stretch all the way out, wanting belly rubs. Adorable. That's my new friend.

Day 5: December Photo Project!

This is Tiger. I received Tiger last year during the annual Nordyke Family trip to Disney. Tiger has become the Office mascot. He resides above my computer. Everyone always wants a better name for him, but after a million and one stuffed animals, you begin to run out of names! He's happy with it though.

Tiger has a tendency to be moved though. Every morning I will come in to the office, and Tiger has been moved. Head popping out of a desk drawer, on top of a door frame, on my chair, on a shelf....always moving! He comes to be there by one of our maintenance men, Joe. Tiger has stayed put every morning this week, so I thought it was time that Tiger left a little message for Joe on his paycheck...

Note the yellow spot right under his rear...yup, Im an adult!
