Lack of an Update.

I feel like this blog has been totally neglected, but I really don't have much to talk about these days. Not that I'm even whining about life, everything's going just dandy (granted the weather hasn't exactly been cooperating since its ALMOST May) but that's neither here nor there.

Spring break at Disney went splendidly. Weather was great, food was gorged upon, rides were ridden. Spent three days up to Mayo in the beginning of April trying to find answers for this constant workout dilemma I have. Learning absolutely diddly was beyond disheartening. Although I guess I did learn I have off the charts awesome cholesterol. My HDL is 93 and LDL is 91. But I guess there's gotta be some perks when you don't like red meat or pork.

So there. A slightly informative update! Non yoga related. Although I know that one will be coming soon....

Day Four @ Disney Highlights.

Monday:
  • Waking up to find 10+ bug bites.
  • A sunny safari ride at Animal Kingdom.
  • Dad turning around mid ride to tell us about UNI in the NIT.
  • Moms Expedition something or other boozy beverages at our Yak n Yeti lunch.
  • Another day getting three workouts in.
  • The privilege of leaving our Wolfgang Puck waiter a note explaining why he sucked. (I wanted my sushi!)
  • The chaos that became Mom and I watching the Bachelor finale (while I was in the gym, and she thought she was texting me from ten feet away).
  • The classic raiding the fridge of all the tasty leftovers from the first half of the week.

Day Three @ Disney Highlights.

Sunday:

Three cheers for Disney serving egg white omelets!

Getting to check out the new and different story lines of the Star Tours ride at MGM (yes, it is still MGM and always will be).
Watching Mom get (re)served her collared greens with whipped cream on them and sharing a PB&J milkshake at a new (to us) 50s themed diner.

Not having to deal with massive crowds due to rain at the park.
But then leaving the park early ourselves and getting in three workouts.
Witnessing INSANE perfectly shaped orb hair during dinner at China.

Day Two @ Disney Highlights.

Saturday:
Had a great early morning workout at their fabulous gym.
Feasted on a french lunch at EPCOT, complete with cheese plate, quiche, and a delicious strawberry cake.
Which led to an accident afternoon nap.
House of Blues makes a killer bread pudding.
Bought some sweet SWEET 80s leg warmers for NLXF.
Got the chance to work off WAY too much bread, cheese, and chocolate with a late night gym visit.

Day One @ Disney Highlights.

Quaker Oats self serve oatmeal machine at the hotel. If you know how much I love oatmeal, you know how happy this made me. And all the condiments your oatmeal could desire!

An easy flight. The older I get and more I fly, the more I figure my odds of crashing are imminent. So each surviving flight is a win in my book.

Disney finally discovered how happy it would make me to have free wifi at the resort. Forget "more time for family and $20 for hardwired 24 hours", give me access!

Ponchos bought! And used!

First night dinner at Via Napoli. The glory of pizza made with Italian water is ENDLESS. Good god it was STELLAR. And the dessert of coppa di brutti ma buoni might have made me happy too.... :-)

Everyone has to eat right?

Ok, you can't go on Spring Break, especially to Disney and not eat ridiculously bad for you and EXTREMELY tasty foods. And then look back and go "Oh, thats why the scale hates me this week...." So here's our reasons.

A Disney Magical Day.

Today has involved.

A glorious two hour morning workout.

Salmon burger lunch at Epcot complete with pretzel roll breadstick and a shared maple creme brule dessert.

Catching up on some interwebs.

Massage at the Spa.

And will conclude with another light workout, an Irish dinner at Downtown Disney, and of course, more awesomeness in general.

Who says spring break can't rock as an adult? :-)

Throwback Thursday: Magical World!

How much would you all laugh if I came back next week with an album full of pictures of me sporting that exact same fanny pack? I think I could start a new trend...

But yes. It's that time of year folks, Disney Week! White trash and foreigners beware, we are coming to take over the parks. If your stroller so much as grazes my shin, you're kid is going to be magically flying to Tomorrowland via my fist. Just saying, you have been warned. And ps. Frenchies, just because you like wine and smoke in your face does NOT mean you can cut me in the line. No need to be worried about the language barrier. I'll make SURE you understand me. You have been warned.

Slow Down, its moving too fast....

The next six weeks are shaping up to look quite awesome. Well, a few less awesome and more just eventful. But still. Keeping busy feels nice. And then summer doesn't exactly slow down....

Week #1-Valentines Day, normally eh. But this year involves a six course dinner. 4 Queens opens. Last Mens Bball game of the season!

Week #2-Two days in St Louis of eating and shopping and Ke$ha in concert. And then getting my top teeth yanked out, thats the less than awesome event....

Week #3-Dropkick Murphy's show in Des Moines. And the last two Womens Bball games of the season!!! Yay free time!

Week #4-Get psyched up (as if I'm not already) and leave for Disney!

Week #5-Best week of the year of Nordyke family craziness at DisneyWorld.

Then June brings (MAYBE) a mission trip to another continent with mi madre. No more on that until its locked. I'm already far too excited for only being in the works.

Perhaps another summer vacay with the fam in Colorado sometime in July....

Throw in five weddings, one being in South Dakota and another in Massachusetts, and you have one poor, yet happily busy and socialized Clare!

Hello.

There should be a People of Disney website....its almost better than Walmart....

This much dessert should never be consumed in a 24 hour period....let alone 6 consecutive 24 hour periods....

Lucas ORear dances should always be done. But sadly, it will be the last of the season tomorrow. Stupid 9 seed.

I like sling box. And gyms.
