Halfway Point. 300 turns to 400.

I know I have a lot of days to catch up on blogging my 300. But I wrote an email this morning now that I have officially begun the 400 hour this weekend and I realized that its s thought train that I might want to look back on in the future. And I don't keep any other form of journal, and I don't think anyone else really reads this anymore, so I'm putting it out there so I don't lose it and can't go back and see what my crazy brain was thinking...

I'm beginning to wonder if I should start preparing headspace for myself to become a teacher at that many locations, teaching every day and numerous times a day.

But that being said, this week will be a mental tsunami on my future in this, and how and what I want to do. But this is the perfect time to really implement what I want to do with it.  And at the moment I really want to push into private sessions. The word is 70/30 split is what's common for the teacher/studio split. And after this week, he really has me into the, you need to present yourself as worth it, because you are and they need to know that through prices. Especially with the split, my TIME is money. So I think going for $60 (42/18 split) for 45 minutes is how I'm going to go through. That could change by the end of the week though. Thursday there is a hot seat where you sit in the middle and basically hash through every plan of action and idea you have going for, and set actual goals to be conquered (not just to throw away). So we'll see.

The crux is that, had we not just moved. I'm kind of thinking I might be in the beginning contemplations of moving down here.... Which is scary that moving could have been a huge mistake, but also that I actually have a desire to be here? But this mornings group class was glaring, that group class is irradically becoming not my thing. I want the private sessions. I'm really falling for the GSP concept. It's amazing. Both teaching and practicing. The personal progress I've made in a week is more than I've made in over a year there. Which is terrifying. And seeing that just makes me want to provide that for others and get to continue myself. I know I'm far from my own (if ever possible) but without a GSP to attend myself, I'm screwed. Driving to DM on a weekday every few weeks is just so unrealistic, especially if I start teaching that much more. But also when it comes to having to teach a lot and carving out the time I can force myself to practice like that myself without the guidance, is just going to be so hard to fight against my personality traits.

I'm so long winded today.

Flashback Friday: Callie Cat & Power Thoughts

My father, back in the day, with his Callie cat. It took 24 years, but there is a cat in their household again. Finally! It just should have been when I was living there!

The two things I will miss most, for sure. Family and kitties. Can't they all just come with?!

But the other day in yoga, I received this quote in my power thought card:
I am safe its only change
I cross all bridges with joy and ease.
The "old" unfolds into wonderful new experiences.
My life gets better all the time.

Normally I pay ZERO attention to the mumbo jumbo....but for once, I think I am glad I read it.

Cuckoo for Kiwis!

Well kids. It's my 300th post. And that is something to celebrate! So I will let you all in on my biggest and latest news....

Ready for it?

The picture above isn't just a pretty eye candy for you to wish upon on this wintery weekend eve, but my soon to be new residence! Well, this next one is a little more accurate....
Nonetheless, if you haven't gotten it yet, we are moving to New Zealand! Oh yes. New Zealand the country. We have 12 month work visas, who knows if we will stay the whole time or just a few months. Nothing is really set in stone. We are going to be working, but we have no jobs. When we land in Auckland, we will literally have no jobs, no housing, nothing but our two pieces of luggage and the bags under our eyes from 22 hours of flight.

We are literally insane. But as most of you have seen, we have been trying to figure out what to do with ourselves recently, and we figured. Go big. So we are. REALLY big. And its going to be absolutely amazing.

So that is that. We leave in less than a month and a half (we would have gone sooner, but Tim needs to put in two weeks after our Disney Spring Break). I am sure now that its out in the open. There will barely be a post that doesn't mention it in some way!

Post any questions or ideas or anything. I want to hear it all!

Another Step....

Tim has taken it to the next level.
The library.
Watch out world.

Baffling My Brain.

Can I just start this off with a big, fat, I DONT KNOW? Cause its true. We have been pondering it for awhile. Pondering it hard for a couple of months. Pondering it always for several weeks. Where do we go from here? And instead of blathering on and on for pages and pages about all the possibilities. I shall blurb it up. Mainly, because the endlessness of it all is what is mind numbing. Whoever said so many options were a good thing was clearly more decisive than me.

Summer starts.

-Boston
Pros: We can sublet for the summer, find a more permanent place, more permanent jobs, really find out if this is where we want to be, as opposed to just missing the good parts.
Cons: Paying rent. Expensive. Money in general.

-Abroad
Pros: Unique experience. Its frickin abroad. Programs look positive. Gap Year is what we are currently looking at. They help you find a place to live and work for like three months.
Cons: Programs can go awry. No kitties. Hopefully break even money wise. No potential in figuring out what to do in the fall.

-Elsewhere
Pros: Figuring out the fall, new place.
Cons: Where do we go? Where do we work? Where do we live?

-Cedar Falls
Pros: Summer in Cedar Falls is the best. Crowds are gone. Convertible, cheapest living possible, family, job, free time galore.
Cons: Its still Cedar Falls.

ARGH. Really. Making this list did not help me. Everything is just so internalized on the matter. Everything is in flux.

In my head, for a solid 24 hours, has been the song from Buffy (yes, I know, deal) after she kisses Spike and they all harmonize (the irony of "Harmony->Harmonize) does not escape me....."Where do we go, from here?"

I thought picking out my clothes in the morning was hard enough....

My mother is on facebook, and I cant move unless the rec center comes with me.

Ok, so I promised an actual piece of literary genius. That aint gonna happen folks. But I will at least put out effort into something. I even paused my movie to do this, so feel special, cause frankly, Kevin Smith was making me do some chuckling about working with Bruce Willis....anyways.

My mother joined facebook yesterday. Well, she joined a long time ago, but it was doubtful she even knew how to sign in let alone accept a friend invite. But yesterday a friend of hers taught her how to do the basic stuff and now she is rather obcessed. The world is coming to an end. When my friends text me that my mother is talking to them via the world of a website where we all have pictures of us and status' that no one wants even their boss to see, let alone their mother. Lord help us all.

I started a cycling class last week. Meets twice a week, half hour cycling, half hour light weights and more muscle building schtuff. And it made me realize that I will never be able to move anywhere ever again. I cannot bear to leave my precious Cedar Falls rec center. I know who I like, I know who I dont like, I know what machines rock and which ones were used by Lou Ferrigno while training for the Hulk in the 70s. I know who smells, and what ball to use for what exercise. I got the place down. I have become very fond of my classes there and know from experience with substitute instructors, that finding new ones is going to be reckoned with teeth gnashing. I enjoy my routine of light salutation yoga then core class on MW, followed with cycling and hardcore yoga on TTh. Why mess with success?

So that just fixes that. I can't move. Unless the rec center comes with me!

On a sidenote, I just ate some canteloupe that tasted like butterscotch. Weird? I think so. Delightfully delicious? Completely!

Cedar Falls Isn't THAT Bad....

The conversation has been had many times. Are we going to stay in Iowa? Not forever, we know. But how much longer? We both miss Boston like crazy, but there are just some things about Cedar Falls that we miss when we are away. This list might have its silly points, but you would be surprised about what you miss when you are away...
